Thomas Jefferson said lotteries are a tax on the willing, some people now say lotteries are a tax on the stupid, but really they are a tax on the desperate.

#384- Statistics

Dang learning. Hasn’t gotten me a dang job, and it’s possibly (very, very remotely possibly) prevented me from winning a dang million ba-jillion dollars! No more learning for me. From now on if CNN is hollerin’ about how aspartame causes heart disease and booty cancer I am going to believe that shit, no questions asked.

Also this comic was super fun to make! Just to clarify, since the panel wound up a little cluttered and I didn’t get to make it as clear as I’d like:

The dude grabbing my arm is Standard Deviation. That’s probably the clearest. His head is a normal distribution curve/bell curve, which is definitely not the type of distribution you’d find with lotteries, but he represents standard deviation as a general concept, not just for this situation. To my left is Probability (his head is a die), and on the far right all in the background is Correlation. His head is an r for r-value.

K I want my xkcd-level readership now, please. You can’t see it, but I’m holding out my hands for stacks of money.

See you Friday!

P.S. Yesterday I posted a little bonus deal if you didn’t see it.
