#380- Delirious Driving
My dad and I drove his car from Dallas to Richmond over 24 hours straight or so, and, among others, I drove the 12AM-6:30 AM shift, and got a little loopy near the end. I never got so delirious as to actually disregard traffic patterns, I stayed safe, so that parts a bit of the “semi” in The SemiReal.
However, the static, blue-lit mushroom cloud? Totally, one-hundred percent legit, and I got a good long look at it, so I know I wasn’t just imagining things. I imagine, however, that it wasn’t some sort of pleasant nuclear weapon, as I sort of imagined at the time. Swamp gas fire combined with the pre-dawn mists? I have no idea. Wild, wild. Also, sorry the comics have been a little weird or maybe even pretentious, I dunno. I’ve been in a weird, kinda crappy mood for some reason.
Also this comic is hitting a little close to home currently because it took forever to finish, I’m finally uploading this at 7:30 AM after working on it all night. Friggin’ coloring in all the greys and stuff. There must have been a better way to do what I did, I really need to just do a thorough online Photoshop tuturiol because it could not possibly begin to take as long as all the time I’ve probably wasted doing things inefficiently, haha.
Alright dudes, see you on Wednesday!

This is super nice, actually. I don’t think you’re getting pretentious… rather I think that your art skills are advancing, and you are working on subject matters that are more serious to fit your more serious/realistic style. Plus, you’re not getting drunk as much because you graduated college. I wouldn’t worry about it. Personally, I’ve been enjoying these more personal, honest, visceral comics, they make a nice change. Of course I enjoy your funny ones too… It’s good to have a mix.
Too Lazy, Didn’t Read: You are awesome.
