Hey gang. I hope you enjoyed the little bit of pastiche I presented in panel one right there. As you can probably tell, it is an homage to a scene from the Peanuts Christmas special. Well, in the spirit of giving, I have decided to open up two little contests for y’all readers, based on this comic. There are two different contests, each with their own prize. One person can win both contests, or they can be won by different people. No one who lives with me or dates someone who lives with me may enter this contest.

1) Be the first person to tell me the names of all of the friends presented in panel one. This should not be too hard. If you’re unsure, consult the name-based tabs on the sidebar of the comic. You must post your guess as a comment on this comic. If you guess correctly, I will tell you that you have won the prize. If you guess wrong, you cannot guess again. Easy peasey. The prize for this contest will be a drawing the size of one panel of my comic (6″x7″), pencilled in blue and then inked with a brush and ink, about a topic entirely of your choosing. I reserve the right to refuse a topic if I think it’s too hard to draw.

2) This one is a little harder, but still not bad. You must email me (at supimben@lycos.com) a picture where you have labelled which character in the original scene I have replaced with which friend. So, here is an example:

               

Etc. Got it? You must email me this. You can print out the picture I’m about to give you and write on it and then take a picture, use photoshop or MS Paint, do whatever as long as it’s clear to me what friend goes with which on-screen character. Note that there is one less friend than there are characters! If you email me and you’re wrong, I’ll email you back (as soon as I check my email and in the order I receive the emails) telling you which you got right and which you got wrong, and you can send another guess as soon as you’re able. First one to send me a totally right guess wins a 14″x12″ drawing about a subject of their choice, again barring difficulty concerns. It can be four 7″x6″ panels, one large illustration, whatever you want! One last tip: I’ve mixed up the position of the people or else it would be easy, and for the most part the Peanuts cartoon I selected to be the model for one of my friends Peanut-style has nothing to do with the friend, except that they’re matched by gender.

Okeydoke. I anticipate these being pretty easy for y’all. Follow the directions closely. Both contests end at 12AM Monday the 15th. If I do not receive winning entries by then I will not award a prize to whoever is closest, it’s a full win or nothing, although I don’t anticipate that being a problem.

 By entering these contests you are agreeing that I have the right to reproduce your prize on this website and wherever else I choose, but you will be the sole owner of the physical copy of that comic, plus I will give you full credit for your idea! I hope to have prizes done by Saturday the 20th before I leave to go to Texas for a week, but I make no actual guarantee as to when prizes will be complete or when you will receive them! Mainly I am being so technical because it is fun and I am procrastinating.
